Oregon Art Beat

Poetry in Motion

The Poetry Society of America launched Poetry in Motion in 1992. The first poems appeared in the New York city subway. Now ten million commuters a day in cities all across the country can read poetry while riding mass transit. Portland’s TriMet system participates in this program, giving poetry by local writers unrivaled visibility.
