Oregon Art Beat

Salem Carousel

Every horse has a story to tell on this lovely riverfront attraction in Salem. That’s because community volunteers carved the horses and put some of their own lives into their work. Visit with creators of the project and watch the artists at work. Woodcarvers and painters tell their story as they put the finishing touches on their horses. Then it is installation time and the final joyful moment of opening day.
