Aquarium Divers

OPB | Aug. 14, 2008 1:30 p.m.

While there are no waves or currents in the large exhibition tanks at the Oregon Coast Aquarium, it’s still a challenging environment in which to dive. Professionals and a team of volunteers fend off sharks, eels and a giant Pacific octopus as they clean and maintain the underwater environment, and during visiting hours, they even become part of the exhibit.
