Lewis and Clark saw many California Condors in Oregon. But pushed to the brink of extinction, these birds have been absent from this area for a century. Now an Oregon Zoo breeding program in Clackamas County will raise and reintroduce California Condors to the Grand Canyon, California and Southern Oregon. This means that one day this great bird could return to its ancient Columbia Gorge territory.
