Fish Hatchery Lab

OPB | Nov. 3, 2006 2:24 a.m.

An update on the controversy surrounding hatchery salmon. Are hatchery salmon substandard and inferior to wild salmon? At the Oregon Hatchery Research Center, Dr. David Noakes and other scientists test spawning results and answer questions related to salmon recovery that may help reverse a 60-year decline in salmon runs. The goal is to make better policy decisions that are based on scientific research, rather than lobbying by interest groups.
