Native Bumblebees

Scott Black of the Xerces Society explains some of the complicated issues surrounding Oregon’s native bees. The introduced European honey bee has been in the news a lot recently. The effects of Colony Collapse Disorder are devastating European honey bee populations, (one of agricultures main pollinators). But habitat destruction and pesticides have taken their toll on Oregon’s native bees. We will see what is being done to restore the balance.
