Scenes From The Thaw: Clear Lake Melting


Clear Lake in the Willamette National Forest is a popular recreation spot in the summer. During the spring thaw, however, it’s so quiet you can hear the soft crackles and steady drips of a melting landscape.

In March 2016, OPB photographer Todd Sonflieth headed to the lake to capture scenes from this hushed season.
