Birdwatchers have long known that wastewater treatment plants can be prime sites for viewing migrating and wintering waterfowl. The nutrient-rich waters of the treatment ponds provide ideal habitat for dozens of species. At a facility near Nahalem, Bill Tice shows us what attracts both birds and birders to these areas.
