Speed Skiing

OPB | Feb. 1, 1994 7:30 p.m.

John Zevely looks like your average Oregonian, that is until you see him shooting down the side of Mt. Hood at speeds over 100 miles per hour. Spend the day on the slopes with John and other members of Oregon’s growing speed skiing community. Most of the skiers started out alpine skiing, but the adrenaline and sounds of speed skiing have tempted both their friends and family to either join them in the sport, or cheer them on from the side.
