Spotted Owl

This video is not currently available. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Despite years of protection for Oregon’s spotted owls, researchers have found little evidence of recovery. They have discovered that a new species of owl, the eastern barred owl, has moved into the protected habitat areas and is competing with the spotted owl for limited resources. The new invader is having a dramatic impact on the endangered species’ survival.
