New technological advances may make it possible for wave-generated electricity to become a viable alternative energy source. Just off Newport a collaboration between OSU and Columbia Power Technologies is underway. A power generating buoy has gone from the safety of the lab to real world testing on the open water. In the future these buoy’s could be supplying energy to Oregon homes and business.
