Budgeting Assumptions
Here's the rest of my conversation with Senator Richard Devlin and Representative Peter Buckley, the two Democratic co-chairs of the Oregon Legislature's Ways and Means Committee. I asked them about the savings in health care costs and in public employee compensation they assumed will happen as they built their budget (as did Governor Kitzhaber.) The third Ways and Means co-chair, Republican Representative Dennis Richardson, was scheduled to be part of this interview but couldn't join us due to an emergency dental appointment.
Here is a link to the show on healthcare cuts I mention in this part of the interview. The first part of the interview started off Thursday's show from the legislature.
