Food Prices, Oregon Studies, and the '64 Quake

As Sarah mentioned last week, we're working on a change here at TOL: for most days, instead of one topic per hour, we're thinking about doing two or three. We're giving ourselves a few chances to play around with different formats to see what sounds best. We've decided not to air these experiments live, but they are airing in our regular rebroadcast slot — ie, tonight at 9pm — and we're putting them on the blog.

Today's episode will bring you: a look at rising oil and food prices; a conversation with State Senator Joanne Verger about her proposal to mandate Oregon history classes for middle school students; and some like-it-was yesterday remembrances from survivors of Alaska's 1964 Good Friday Earthquake.

Have a listen, and tell us what you think.
