Lauren Weedman may be best known for her work on The Daily Show and Curb Your Enthusiasm, but now this Los Angeles actor is in Portland trying to figure out what makes this place “weird.” Portland Center Stage (pdf) has commissioned Weedman to write and perform a new play, The People’s Republic of Portland, for their  the 2012-2013 season. This weekend she’ll be work-shopping it at the Just Add Water Festival.

While shooting a segment with Oregon Art Beat this week, she visited the Hair of the Dog Brewing Company to learn more about Portland’s beer culture. Here are a few shots from her afternoon:
