New Life For The Columbia River Crossing?

OPB | Aug. 7, 2013 12:45 p.m. | Updated: Sept. 11, 2013 1:17 a.m.

Despite the Washington legislature’s failure to approve funding for a new I-5 bridge, some Columbia River Crossing supporters are working behind the scenes on a scaled-down version of the bridge. Democratic Washington state senator Annette Cleveland, a strong supporter of the bridge project, told the Columbian newspaper, “There’s a willingness on everyone’s part to explore any option that might be viable.”

Advocates of the CRC in Washington and Oregon are expected to send a letter to the offices of Governor Inslee and Governor Kitzhaber urging them to do whatever they can to revive the CRC. That letter could come as soon as today. Meanwhile, Clark County commissioners are putting proposals on the ballot that ask voters what they would like to see happen.

Have you been following the CRC story? What would you like to see happen with the I-5 bridge?
