UPDATE Apr 24, 8:15am: The winners have been announced and the list includes quite a few past TOL guests: Patrick deWitt, Joe Sacco, Graham Salisbury and Lidia Yuknavitch

The winners of the Oregon Book Awards will be announced Monday night. Litarary Arts, which puts on the awards, released a list of 33 finalists in January. The list included many authors featured on Think Out Loud.

The awards will feature its first-ever prize for graphic literature. The roster of finalists showcases Portland’s strong graphic publishing scene, with three of the nominees coming from Oregon publishers.

There was a solid showing of first-time novelists, with Dan DeWeese, Brian Doyle, and Vanessa Veselka all earning nominations for their debuts.

What were your favorite Oregon books of 2011? Do you see any common themes in books by Oregon authors?
