Play It Again, Franz

How hairspray saved the day… and other unlikely piano tuning tales.

One of the most unlikely guests we’ve ever had on Think Out Loud was a piano tuner. What does a piano tuner have to say, after all?

Turns out our guest Franz Mohr, piano tuner to the stars, was a delightful storyteller. We learned, for example, how hairspray rescued him from a sticky situation. So by popular demand, and as a bit of a break from our political coverage during the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, (and yes, as a way to give ourselves a Labor Day breather!), we’re re-broadcasting “A Life In Tune” as a holiday special.

We won’t be taking calls, but if Mohr inspires your own piano memories, or stories about an instrument you loved, share them here.
