For months, it seemed that there wasn't going to be a 2011-2012 NBA season. Remember commissioner David Stern's prediction of a "nuclear winter" after the Player's Union decided to disband in November? At that time, the ESPN blogger (and Portland native) Henry Abbott was still hopeful. He said on our show that he didn't think the league and the players were that far apart, and that he expected to see a shortened basketball season.

Turns out he was right.

Blazers fans rejoiced! And then very quickly started asking questions.

Some of those questions have been answered: Brandon Roy has retired, and Greg Oden might be out for the season. The Oregonian columnist Steve Duin says we're witnessing the "long, slow dissolve" of the Trailblazers.

What do you call it? What are you hoping for this season? What are you actually expecting?
