Oregon boasts a magnificent host of volcanic caves, but government agencies such as the National Parks Service and U.S. Forest Service often lack the resources to monitor and maintain them. Luckily, chapters of the National Speleological Society, called "Grottoes," have taken on the mantle of protecting and preserving these natural resources. We will hear from some people who are dedicated to Oregon's Caves, includinng the Natural Resources Specialist at the Oregon Caves National Monument.
Are you a caver? What draws you inside the earth? If you're cave-curious, what would it take for you to take the plunge?
