We'll get the lowdown this week from Amelia Templeton. She's our Earthfix reporter based in Medford, but she's working on a story out of Crater Lake National Park. (Some reporters have all the luck!) There's a whole division of the Park Service that's charged with protecting the natural soundscape. One researcher has spent the entire last year gathering hundreds of hours of sound from various places in the park. We'll hear how that research will be used and find out how it got started.
What do you appreciate about Crater Lake when you visit? What sounds do you remember? Are there any you particularly look forward to hearing when you visit Crater Lake or your favorite outdoors spot?
