OPB Ecotrope blogger Cassandra Profita recently visited a region of northeast Texas known as "cattle feeding country" to learn more about the carbon footprint of beef production — and how ranchers are working on reducing their industry's environmental impact. One of the more surprising things she found was that ranchers claim that feed lots actually reduce the environmental footprint of beef. This means that grass-fed cows may not be better for the environment, as some have claimed.

What questions do you have about the environmental impact of beef production?
