The Congressional fight over how much to cut the federal budget has so far resulted in a stalemate. The main agreement so far has been on continuing resolutions to put off a government shutdown. The latest deadline is Friday by midnight. Congressional leaders are not optimistic that an agreement will be reached in time to prevent the federal government from shutting down — like it did most recently in 1995. We'll talk about the politics behind the possible shutdown and what could happen as a result.
