Hermiston has earned the distinction of Eastern Oregon's largest city, according to 2010 Census reports. The city beat out Pendleton by 133 people, posing the question, does size matter?
The report brought to light a particularly desirable demographic among Hermiston's growing population — 31 percent of the people who live there are under 18 years old.
Hermiston city manager Ed Brookshier says growth has been deliberate and is a reflection of the town's welcoming attitude, aggressive industrial development and emphasis on higher education.
Do you live in Eastern Oregon? Have you noticed Hermiston's growth? Wherever you live, how does the size of your city impact your life?
