Eyewitness evidence is used in court cases all over the country every day. Now, both the Oregon Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court are taking up the issue of under what circumstances and in what way eyewitness evidence should be used. Since the last time the nation's high court took up the issue, a huge amount of scientific evidence has been accumulating about how unreliable it really is — putting eyewitness evidence itself on trial.

Have you presented eyewitness evidence in a trial? Have you tried a case or defended against charges where eyewitness evidence was crucial in the proceedings? How confident are you in the accuracy of your own memories? Have you encountered a situation where you and someone experienced the same event but remember it differently? How did you account for the difference?
