So I think 'meme' is the wrong word for what you were getting at, Mr. Miller, and maybe a common theme or recurring concern would have been better. A meme is viral and gets to the level, really, of Star Wars Kid or lolcats. And jeez you guys are just so in love with the medium and using the words meme, blogosphere, etc that it can sound dorky, sorry to say. (Think of the DJs raving about 8-track cassettes when the music was what needed to be talked about since the medium always changes.) I know your job involves pumping the web connection to increase listenership or participation or whatever the goal is there, but if you could be less....shall we say, irrationally, effusively and flamboyantly affectionate?..for the medium when its the ideas and people that count. I'm sure you think blogs will live forever, but as a former childhood breakdancer I can tell you from personal experience that some fads don't last. (Even if they come back around every so often.) And although I tried to listen to the show for many months due to the awesome local issue coverage and content, I have given up except for the occasional nothing-else-to-do listening session because although I hear her trying to soften her approach to guests, Ms. Harris is still like nails on a chalkboard to me. And its not your voice, Ms. Harris. You have a great voice for radio. Its just the barely restrained disdain and lack of emotion. The evident self-superiority. Even when a topic or caller seems to touch you, you can go from subdued reverence back to clinical choppy robotic cold disdain within a word or two, and its awful. Like Im so sorry your granny died, Bob. NEXT on the show we'll be...." Also when you summarize people's statements you sound horribly uncaring. "So the same thing we've been hearing, right. Moving along...." You simply must quit this line of work or go behind the scenes because you have no future in on-air work in my admittedly unsolicited, harsh and ruthless opinion. As I have said before in an email early on in the shows history, I have no issue with strong women, but you have to have a soul. I can find no broadcaster of any gender with anywhere near the complete tonal apathy you exhibit. Your delivery says, I am a harsh alien overlord discussing the systematic slaughter of the human race as coldly as if turning to a colleague and brusquely saying, "Do you have the file I requested?" while expecting the peon underling not to have it and to have earned your disdain. I'm very sorry to go on so, but it must end. Our wonderful state is one of glorious expanses and colors and diversity and you seem to only have absorbed the gray drudgery of rainy winter days. When I think of the wonderful men and women with lively personalities that could be hosting the show, it pains me deeply. And I'm not talking about The View or GMA on OPB, but Oregonians are a bit weird, a bit funky, a bit old fashioned and a bit wry. Please please get someone for the show who reflects the vibrance of our region. And, again, Mr. Miller, I suggest turning down the knob on the fatuous tech guru stuff. Like BBC commentators often refer offhandedly to it like, "Oh and on the blog we have this entry..." but not overtly adulant or whatever for the technology because a lot of Oregonians use technology but we also use dirt and manure and wood and stone and we don't go around being so queer about it. And I mean that in the non-gender related and non-sexual orientation sense of the word. Please take no offense LGBT community.

Thanks anyway. I have no faith my pleas will be answered but this show too will pass eventually. Please get a new host and carry on!!!!!

Wow, chadrichins. Tell us how you really feel.

I have a suggestion for the show. Why not offer an hour to chadrichens and he could be the guest host. He may find out that it's not as easy as it appears to be.

I've listened to the list of Obama's economic team and I'm waiting with held breath. The magnitude of the problem seems to dwarf the people charged with fixing it. The team members seem capable and competent but are they enough? There is little Obama can say that will instil confidence in me about this economy. In this case action will speak louder than words. I will continue to listen but right now I'm sceptical and following the blue tsunami evacuation signs to higher ground.
