The 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London are now less than a month away. Time has come for Team USA to be defined and some Oregon athletes have made the list. They include:

  • Galen Rupp, from Portland, made history by winning a 5,000 -10,000-meter double at the Olympic trials in Eugene this week. The last man to do so was Curtis Stone in 1952.
  • Ashton Eaton, from Eugene, now holds the world record in the decathlon after finishing with 9,039 points and running the 1,500-meter almost two seconds before the time he needed to beat.
  • Rich Fellers from Wilsonville, will be on the U.S. Equestrian team after coming in first in Canada earlier this summer.

In this show we'll take stock of the local athletes who made it to Team USA. And we'll learn more about some of the controversies surrounding the qualifying events so far (such as the track and field runoff andl as Nastia Liukin's devastating fall).

Are you getting excited about the upcoming Olympic Games? Who will you be rooting for?
