School Funding On The May Ballot

AIR DATE: Monday, April 29th 2013

Ten school districts hope voters will approve funding measures on the special election ballot in May. Most districts are seeking bond money to upgrade and improve school buildings. In Roseburg, the district wants to do some technological upgrades and in Klamath County they hope to build a new elementary school.

The Beaverton School District has a levy on the ballot to raise $75 million in additional property taxes over five years. According to the district, the money would be used for "operating funds to prevent teacher position cuts and protect class size."

Voters shot down all the school funding measures on the ballot in 2011. Will this year buck that trend?

Is there a school funding measure in your district? How will you vote?
