Oregon lawmakers are considering a bill that would use driver's license data to automatically register voters in the state. Secretary of State Kate Brown is pushing for the legislation, which she says would help increase voter participation.

The proposal would essentially change voter registration from an opt-in system to an opt-out system. Newly registered voters would receive letters in the mail with information about how to opt out or add party affiliation to their registration.

Some Republicans have voiced concerns about sharing data across state agencies. Some have also argued that the state shouldn't be registering people to vote without their consent. Minor party advocates are also apprehensive about how this proposed change could affect them.

Are you registered to vote in Oregon? How would you feel about having to opt out of registration rather than opting in?
