Bob Femer's comments:
on Stayin' In
I had a comment for the gentleman who called in complaining that annual fees at parks are to high. Have you ever been to Disneyland? $100 wouldn't even get you in for a weekend. When you look at what entertainment costs, I think state parks provide a good value. $3 for a day pass? You can't even get into a movie matinee for that anymore.

on Where Bikes and Cars Intersect
I drive in downtown Portland quite a bit and when I see a bike nearly hit a car making a turn the car has either failed to signal or signaled right as they began turning. I think if both bikes and cars followed the rules a little better, there would be fewer issues downtown.

on The Legality of Homelessness
Most people feel that the reason that people are homeless is that they are lazy and laws such as this one are built on that assumption. The laws also are built on society's assumption that issues such as this have a quick fix. Since both of these assumptions are false, the laws that they are based on do little to help homelessness. The reasons people are homeless are multifaceted; untreated mental illness, the lack of low income housing, and the afore mentioned public misconceptions. Until we, as a society, deal with these real issues little will be to solve homelessness.
