Civil rights have made great strides over the last 50 years. But have we arrived to the place that Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed? To a small degree. I have a criminal background and will be looked down at for the rest of my life. I have really good character, but made a few mistakes growing up. But my character is tarnished now and very few people can see who I am below the tarnish.
This is how I feel most minorities are treated. Tarnished! Why are they automatically tarnished. How do we fix this?

on Salem in Session
I just heard the call about the problems with health care. I have two friends that are falling through the cracks as they move from middle class to elderly poorness. I have been trying to help them through some of the services they need to have. Their income has been reduced since they no longer work. So I see the stress that is attacking them trying to pay their bills with too little money.

on Paying Per Mile
I am a disabled veteran with permanent plates. What I want to know is how this is going to charged to drivers.
If it is charged to registration, I will not have to pay due to my disability status.

on Rebroadcast: Transgender
I have been in transition since 2003. My name went from Chris Michael Strawn to Chrissy Michelle Strawn. My life has been tough. I suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder and this makes my life a roller-coaster. But living as a woman I like my life much better. This has also brought out my creativity with my photography and art. You can see my photo and work at http://www.cayennephotos.com/. The longer I live the more I am taken as woman then a man. I am very glad that this program aired.

on Congress, Rural Style
I think that Rural Oregon is a very beautiful place that needs our help if this state is to survive. I am a creative photographer who knows some of the beauty of that majority of our state. The people there need us to help them with their modest living in a fair way.
