According to your poll there's a 10-11 point advantage for yes votes. How is this a "close race?"

Can you address the US and Chinese support of the Khmer Rouge in the 70's; as a pawn in their wars with Vietnam, as a legitimate government, the funneling of aid and weapons to them in Thailand, and after the KR were overthrown continuing their support in their representation of Cambodia in the UN.
the history and how does this effect their feelings toward the US, Vietnamese, and China now?

LCB.
First, a backyard is hardly a free range pasture. Equating the nutritional benifits of those eggs to you're own is a little suspect.
Second, Organic eggs = no antibiotics/no growth hormones.
Third, I eat approx. 1 carton of eggs every month. I spend about $56 dollars a year for organic eggs. I don't see how it could possibly be cheaper to raise chickens; what with the associated housing, feeding, and personal time costs.

It's kind of like makings an unsupported claim on the moral superiority of veganism. Talk about a fad.

In Portland you are allowed 3 without permits. The gentleman with Dave Miller has 8 chickens. Did he get a permit or is he a scofflaw? What are the requirements for permits over 3 chickens?
Isn't it easier and cheaper to just buy organic eggs?

I agree that deforestation is an issue that needs to be dealt with on an international level. Your guest mentioned that a lot of the deforestated land in third world countries were being used for small scale agricultural development. Since hunger is an issue in most of the third world, is it a good idea to stop the agricultural development that might solve some of their hunger issues?

Why do PGE/Pacific Power customers have to pay an increased cost for "green" power, when the lionshare of energy produced in the NW is hydroelectric? To me it makes sense to increase the price to use traditional energies...like a sin tax?

As a life long North Portland Resident, I have quite fond memories of the Paul Bunyan statue. When the Max line came in I feared the statue would be sold or destroyed. Fortunately, it was just moved it across the street. It is a great source of pride for us in North Portland and thanks to the National Register it will be for generations to come.

on Oregon's Historic Places
Sorry if this is a double post, the site seems alittle funky right now.
It seems to me, that a major component of MCM architecture was the importance of surrounding landscape design. Looking at the historic pictures, the building truly does shine, but the current landscape doesn't do the structure any favors. The building seems to be pushed aside within the current Rose Quarter design. Can your guests address the landscape as well as the building itself and whether bringing the building back into the function of the Rose quarter would make it more "attractive" to those that don't appreciate MCM design?

on Rural Recession
You know, these historic red areas don't have much of a leg to stand on. For the 30+ years they have voted against tax policies that would help them; instead favoring a supply side tax policy that only benifits corporations. They have voted to cut funding to education and vital social services. They have voted for and supported anti-union candidates.
Now they want stimulus money, social services and jobs. HA.
Maybe if these rural areas didn't vote against their own self-interests they wouldn't be in the poor situation they find themselves in today.

With all these tax credits being doled out and expanded, where does the state plan on getting their money? Maybe this is why there a holes in our budget, cuts to social services, or why they are talking about beginning a sales tax?
