Dale Wassmuth's comments:
on Policing the Mentally Ill
I picked up the session while driving.
It was very well done. Sheriff Ramirez, seemed quite progressive in his thinking. Jason Renaud represented the activists well. David Zeiss's comments on the Cahoots Program were eye opening and informative.
I called in to add a comment, but had not visited the website before and logged in.
I was impressed with the professionalism displayed by ms. Harris. Mr. Miller seemed to have some insider insight into the public policy side of the equation, that I have not seen in broadcast people before.
I am a retired psychiatrist who worked and trained in a state mental institutions and worked in private mental health and public clinics. I also served as a board member of a managed care company at one time and and director of an out patient mental rehab service.
I have appeared on local radio and TV programs for interviews. My wife and I are long time supporters of Public Radio. If there is any way I could be of help in your program I would look forward to discussing that. I live in Lincoln City. DRW
