on Egypt Revolts

At the behest of the U.S., the Egyptian govt. has partnered up with Israel to enforce a continuous apartheid upon Palestine - effectively locking in over 2.3 million Palestinians in a massive "open-air" prison. Plus, Mubarak uses HAMAS as an excuse for not allowing ANY supplies - food, medicine, diapers, etc. - to cross the Egyptian border over to Palestine... a so-called "peace agreement". This is but one of many grievances the people of the Arab world are expressing right now. And it was made clear in the WiKiLeaks cables (to any who hadn't already known) that the "leaders" of these Arab countries - mostly backed by the U.S. - don't represent the people of these countries.

I could only wish that the American govt. would be so reckless as to shut down the internet here. Infact, i wish they'd shut down all cable service & shopping malls too - seems like that's the only thing that'll get people out in the streets in massive numbers! Hell knows WE have our own long list of grievances, plus, we're very long over-due for a healthy revolt, anyways.

on Egypt Revolts

First Tunisia, then Yemen, then Egypt, now Jordan... wonderful! It really does look like the MiddleEast is having it's "Berlin Wall" moment, much to the chagrin of America, Israel, & right-wing neo-conservative interests. No doubt, CIA headquarters has been scrambling like crazy since last week! And no doubt, Egypt is full of CIA "hitmen" right at this moment. Hopefully, it won't matter this time. The people are sick & tired! The people of the Middle East are sick & tired of being lorded over by tyrannical despots who are supported by the U.S. And they know that their "leaders" are backed by the U.S. They know that Egypt is the second largest recipient of U.S. aid in the region - second only to Israel. And they know that nearly ALL that aid goes towards' Egypt’s' military & secret police. People in Egypt are sick & tired of living under a state of martial law that hasn't been lifted since Mubarak took power 30 years ago, after President Sarak was assassinated (by the CIA). Educated people are sick & tired of having to leave their own country just to find work. That alone is a scandal that demands world-wide attention.  And how typical the government's reaction has been - to shut down the internet, all cell phone service, & public transportation. As if mass demonstrations have only been taking place within the past few years. How on earth do these govt. officials think people coordinated protests BEFORE the internet?! Obviously, this hasn't stopped the people from gathering in the millions all over the country. Plus, by shutting down the internet & cell phones, you're effectively forcing people out into the streets anyways, HELLO!

Of course, conservative fear-mongers, right-wing zionists, etc. would have the less informed believe that if Mubaraks' regime falls, fanatical Islamists will take over, that the Islamic Brotherhood had orchestrated this entire event, that this populous up-rising will spell doom for Israel & U.S. relations. All bald-faced LIES, obviously. The TRUTH is, the Islamic Brotherhood is a largely secular group that does not believe in total clerical rule nor sheria law. Demonstrations in Egypt & other countries have largely been ad-hoc & without formal drive from large organizations. Infact, very much unlike the tea-party "movement" here, the mass movements in the Middle East have mostly been organic, authentic, & bottom-up without official backing from billionaires.

on One Year Later: Aaron Campbell

"Aaron Campbell and Jared Loughner both suffered what appeared to a be acute psychotic episode.  One ended up dead, the other in prison."

Yeah, the only difference between Campbell & Loughner being that Campbell was going through extreme mental distress at a particular moment, following his brother's death earlier that day. Campbell was NOT psychotic! He never threaten, nor did he ever cause harm to anyone. On the contrary, Campbell was actually cooperating with police. Campbell was clearly not armed & police knew this. His back was to them when he walked out of his apt. SURRENDERING & his hands were plainly visible. Yet, officer Ryan Lewton shot Campbell in the back with beanbag rounds despite ZERO physical resistance, right after which [ex]officer Ron Frashour used an AR-14 military assault rifle to gun him down in the back - directly following Lewtons' lead. A K-9 attack dog was sicced on Campbell as well. Basically, Aaron was hit with 3 different forms of deadly [or slightly less than deadly] force within a 5 second span. Even afterwhich, Campbell was left to bleed to death, his dead body was hand-cuffed, & paramedics were kept away for over 30 minutes.

Loughner, on the otherhand, was clearly psychotic when he murdered 6 people. Although, Loughner couldn't have been that  crazy, since he carefully planned his attack out for months - so he knew good 'n damned well what he was doing. Yet, when Loughner was arrested, he wasn't subjected to ANY of the human rights abuses that Campbell suffered.

on One Year Later: Aaron Campbell

So it's a year later & what's been done? One cop was finally fired - which took long enough & only after continuous outrage from the community. But other officers directly responsible for Campbells' murder haven't been punished at all, other then afew measly suspensions. Ofcourse, no cop has been charged with murdering Campbell.

Still, unresolved, as far as many are concerned.

on Waldport Reacts to Shooting

I just think it's pretty terrible that whenever something like this happens, everyone's Civil rights fly right out the window. Immediately after that cop was shot, the entire surrounding area was turned into a police-occupied zone. Motorists were being stopped & searched, cops were going door-to-door interrogating citizens, schools were arbitrarily placed on criminal lock-down, it just goes on. At this point, what precious little was left of the 4th Amendment no-longer exist. And yet, people just accept it & give their unwavering support to law-enforcement... even as they're being interrogated in their own homes at gun-point.

Ofcourse, police NEVER exorcise such zeal in catching criminals whenever someone else falls victim to a violent crime. Only when one of their "own" is shot, do police act this way. And yet, everyone just kind of accepts it.

Never a religious nor commercial person myself, i've truely come to DESPISE this time of year! Infact, i don't think that ANYONE really gets into this "christmas" garbage - not really. It's kinda like clowns - nobody likes clowns, loathes them actually. Yet, there's this persistance that everybody just LOVES clowns.

Even most so-called christians get rather tired of it, i suspect. Why is this nonsense continuously forced upon us? Is it just for commercial reasons??? WTF?!

It's also very possible & most probable to be totally racist & xenophobic, while hiding behind a  phony front that one is simply "anti-jihadist".

Gotta love how the racists are too cowardly to admit being racists. Which is why they invented codespeak.

"I have a Brooklyn accent,..."

Well apparently you live in Tigard,OR now, but that's really aside the point. There's no "jihadists" in Brooklyn, either. So again, good luck & godspeed on your personal "crusade".

"Mohammed Mohamud came from Corvallis. If it can happen there, it can happen anywhere."

What happened in Corvallis, besides some redneck attempting to burn down a mosque? Where are these killer jihadists that you speak of?

Michael, fyi flight 93 was completely empty when it crashed into that field in PA, just so you know. Hence, NO bodies were recovered from the crash sight. Sure, we got to see afew token body bags - Hell knows what was actually in them. And why would you hang up as soon as the show's host took your call?

Anyways, good luck battling against "the eeevil jihadists"... in Tigard.

Islamophobia is RACISM, plain & simple!

It is such racism that has saddled Muslim people with, say for prime example, the so-called 9/11 attacks. Considering that Muslims - extremist or otherwise - had absolutely NOTHING to do with 9/11! Why all this focus on so-called "Islamic extremists", considering that this very country was "founded" by European, illegal alien, CHRISTIAN invaders who wiped out 90% of the aboriginal population, imported SLAVE labor, & held up a system of APARTHEID for more than a hundred years post-slavery?!

Ask yourselves, HOW did the twin towers fall? HOW did Building no.7 fall? WHY were there NO human remains found at the PA crash site? WHY is there NO video footage of an actual PLANE crashing into the Pentagon???

Question, or wallow in ignorance - your choice...

Total entrapment.

The FBI set this entire thing up. This kid is NO jihadist - he's some poor patsy that fed. goons picked a year ago & they've been leaning on him ever since.

Sadly, all the thoughtless dopes have bought the LIES. Expect a spike in hate crimes & security over the next several weeks.

I've decided last year never to acknowlege Thanksgiving again. Why feast & worship a "holiday" that's been built on the un-marked mass graves of countless Native Americans???

on Official Misconduct

I have friends who live in that area (Hermiston, Stanfield) including a National Guard friend who's stationed in Pendelton. From what they tell me, the local govt. out there is soo corrupt if only the entire state knew it would be a massive scandle in OR. I visited Hermiston this past Spring & i gotta tell you, i had a good time with my friends but the area itself was beyond depressing.  it really does seem like the state Attorney General should get invovled.

on Frashour Fired

I have to commend Adams, Chief Mike Reese, & espesially the cops' "token" union boss Daryl Turner for being brave enough to appear on todays' show - even if all they really did was make excuses.

I still feel that these tiny measures of discipline fall faaar short of any sort of TRUE accountability where it concerns the Portland Police. And i still don't understand how Officer Lewton gets off with a 2-week suspention when HE was every bit as responsible for Campbells' murder as Frashour. And why hasn't  Officer Jeffery Ellias been punished? Isn't this the cop who sicced a canine on Aaron that night, symotaniously as he was being shot in the back by Frashour?

To this day, noone has explained why it was nessesary for a cop to have a military assault rifle.

And what is it with these grand juries? They always find "no wrong-doing" on the part of the cops. So if a GRAND JURY declared earlier this year that cops did nothing wrong, what's Frashour being fired for?! What is the pending civil suit for?

on Frashour Fired

So Officer Ronald Frashour is finally FIRED after gunning down un-armed Aaron Campbell with a military assault rifle. And it [only] took, what, 11 monthes to come to such a decision. I suppose we all should be greatful for the "speedy" work of the PPB. However - Officer Ryan Lewton should also be fired! Lewton shot Aaron in the back with beanbag rounds where he had NO right, NO reason, & NO authority to do so. When Aaron, out of sheer reaction, reached toward the area where the beanbags made impact, it was only then that Frashour shot him. So, this makes Ryan Lewton every bit as responsible for Aaron Campbells' MURDER as Frashour. If anything, Frashour was following Lewtons' immediate lead.

In addition, Aaron was deliberately denied medical treatment. He was allowed to bleed to death for over 30 minutes. His handcuffs weren't even removed until his body was in the morgue. This constitutes 2nd degree murder at the very least. A little two-week suspention for afew other cops is a kick in the groin, so far as anyone with a sense of decency is concerned. This is NOT justice served.

But even such a pitiful & long delayed level of punishment begs one to wonder: if it's good enough for these cops, then why not the cops who murdered James Chasse? The 3 cops who murdered James Chasse in 2006 - Kyle Nice, Brett Burton, & Christopher Humphreys - have never been disciplined in any way. No, wait... i believe (former Chief) Rosie Sizer "recommended" a little 2-week suspention for Humphreys back in 2008, my bad. Otherwise, Chasses' killers all remain cops to this day.

There are many un-resolved issues in Multnomah Co. where it concerns the police. One cop losing his job for gunning down a citizen is one thing - but i don't see any of these other issues being addressed.

on No-Fly List

Actually, President Obama isn't Black, he's bi-racial (his mother being White n' all).

Also, you want to bring up someone's beliefs, which mat or may NOT be true. But since when did simply having a "belief" warrent being placed on some draconian "terror" list?

Again, as i've said before: Blacks, Muslims, Political radicals - THAT'S who's on this list!

on No-Fly List

Sheikh Abdirahman Kariye may not know why he's on this draconian no-fly list, but i know exactly why: He's BLACK. He's MUSLIM. Individually, being either of these is bad enough. But to combine them strikes hysterical fear into the hearts of red-blooded REAL christian Americans everywhere!

I wish someone on todays' show would've had the nerve to address the massive white elephant that's been loudly stomping around in the room: that is, most of the people on this list are either Muslim, Black/African, Arab, or a combo of two of these. And the fact that the American citizens who've effectively been exiled in "brown-skinned" countries [because they can't get back into the U.S.] speaks volumes! I also suspect that among the Whites/caucasions who're on this list, you'll find a majority of peace activists, Muslim coverts, "green" activists, anti-zionists, etc.

Let's be ****ing HONEST! The entirety of this list is grossly unconstitutional - at best. At worst, it's a political weapon used against certain people with certain political or religious views.  I'll remind you all that the late Ted Kennedy & Congressman John Lewis (D-GA) were once on this list!

on Immigration Law

I would just like to know this:

Exactly HOW was this "poll" conducted? WHO was polled? How do the respondents break down, racially? Were people contacted by cell phone, land line, door-to-door? Were people polled on the street at random? Was this poll done ALL OVER the state, or just in areas outside Portland/Metro?

This reason i'm asking all this is, i'm a person of colour who lives here in the Pacific NW & i absolutely do NOT agree with such a nakedly racist/Orwellian law which directly targets Latinos/Latinas. Yet, i had NO IDEA such a poll had taken place until last week when it was already done.

I live & work in this state, i pay taxes, contribute to this state more than i take away. But i don't recall anyone asking me what i thought. Infact, i can go to all of my friends - including my White friends - & probably NONE of them could say they've been polled about their thoughts concerning immigration.

Just who were they talking to, anyways?

on When Unemployment Benefits Run Out

Many employers won't even talk to you b/c you don't have what they consider a "stable work history". Fact is, they may only be looking at the last 4 or 5 years, when the job seeker actually had a very stable full-time work history for 12 or 13 years prior to that. Yet, a person can be shot down due to some pissant, none drug-related, none person-to-person "barely" a felony conviction (from another state) from 1995!

If you're laid off after doing [pretty-much] the same thing for 20 years, it becomes impossible to find work in an even similar field & you're "not qualified" to do anything else. But if you've done alot of different things, you don't have any "experience".

I've worked with people who've been temping for the same company doing the same thing for a year, only to end up fired or laid off or whatever - instead of being hired on full. Then it somehow counts as a strike against them that they've been a temp for the past year!

What do you do when all your reliable references are out of work themselves or otherwise no-longer reachable?

Btw, the so-called "official" unemployment rate [both nationally & state-wide] isn't true at all. If you include all the folks who're no-longer counted b/c their benifits ran out, people who're working part-time (which could be just afew hours aweek), etc., you'll find that those numbers DOUBLE easily!
