on Egypt Revolts
Tunisia was certainly the catalyst for the Egyptian revolution. Egypt's economic woes (unemployment and deminished purchasing power) created the potential for the Revolution. Left wing news outlets in the US and Europe (democracynow and The Gaurdian) are reporting the role of recent (2005 and on) neoliberal reforms in Egypt which helped to create the economic predicament. Moderate media outlets (like OPB) need to spend more time discussing these reforms and their effect on the Egyptian economy to decipher what role they played in the revolution.
Thanks for your time

This question is for the Democratic candidates for govenor. The recent federal health reform bill failed to include an amendment which would provid legal protection for states which wish to go ahead with single payer reform. According the author of the amendment, Rep Kucinich of Ohio, states which move ahead with single payer reform have been threatened with legal attack under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Would you as the govener of Oregon risk litigation by moving ahead with substantive state wide reforms to the Oregon health insurance market?
Thank you
