Perhaps there are ordinances somewhere against wearing white after Labor Day? Or wearing Joey Buttafuoco pants... ever?

on Measure 67
Can you tell us more about your company's finances? If you've begun scouting locations, I assume that you're figuring that Measure 67 would mean significantly higher new taxes, which either means sizable profits or sizable Oregon sales. Can you give us a sense for what kind of a hit you're expecting?
Also, do you have any idea where you’d want to move?

on Finding Solutions: What Works and Why for Housing
Scottmil,
Your overall point is well taken: we probably could have done a better job defining the problem today before we moved on to the solutions. (In fact, we saw our recent homelessness series as a sort of natural lead-in to today's show, but we didn't make that connection explicit.)
In any case, look for more clearly defined problems in the future!

ScottMil,
Commenters can't change their own names, but that was a one-time perk (call it a holiday offering) that I made for a new commenter.

on RX: Health Care by Christmas?
Maybe I wasn't clear! It's $8500 for an individual, or $23,000 for a family.

Well, we're talking about it tomorrow! Let's assume for a second that you're right: that the problems humans face wouldn't be greatly lessened if we only numbered in the hundreds of millions (as opposed to nearly 7 billion).
How do you reduce the global population by more than 6 billion people?

on Coming out of Copenhagen
I wish we'd been able to put more calls on today, but the fact is we only got a handful of them to begin with. And we're careful to screen all of our calls to make sure that they take our conversation in a new or meaningful direction. We never put calls on just for the sake of puttng a call on.

We'd love to talk to them for a future show. But in the meantime, can you give us a sense for what you've heard from your daughter?

We're out of time, but I'm going to see if we can have Don Miller respond to this after the show.
Thanks for the comment!

I think that fits pretty well with what he's been saying. But he's also mentioned the idea of sacrifice for something bigger than you are — for some kind of greater (however you define it) good.

Well, on that last question — of whether the earth as we know it is worth saving — what did you make of Gore's response? (And did you get any frisson from momentarily stupefying a seemingly unstoppable talking force?)
