I read the measure, the actual text.
Based on that document I make a decision.

on Sizing Up Your Genes
Based on the results of a routine lab test, I was tested genetically.
The nice thing is that if I do not die of laughter observing the left and the right schism in today’s society; unlike most of you I know what is going to kill me!
That and my children and theirs can get well ahead of the genetic disposition, and live longer then I shall.
Laughter the best the best medicine!
It also remains free!

on Can't We All Just Get Along?
Did I really hear this AM that the design has been built once, had huge cost over runs, and that bridge is now cracking… So, the design has issues and that may be resolvable, will it withstand the impending earthquake along the fault it is being built on? Can it be built on budget? Are the choke points (all of I-5 through PDX) going to be eliminated?

PAC's are a fine example of the failure of our current system.

on Independent in Oregon
I agree.
I used the identifier of Independent to communicate that I am independent of the two sheep parties.
I have refrained from using the more accurate label, which I will now use.
I am not a Demicant or Republiwont nor do I belong to any other party.
I am an Oregonian, first and always.

I apologize you could not hear me laugh! Perhaps someday “they” will get that part of this medium fixed. Life is too short not to laugh!

Can ‘any’ PARTY be considered Independent?
They are most often made up of zealots that splinter off of the Far Left and Right. After 30+years in the Democratic Party, I finally gave up and dropped all party affiliation. The only thing any party membership offers is, blinders allowing lock step party line voting and the “privilege” of casting a vote in the primary.
Eliminating ALL Party’s is the only real solution to the lunacy that is politics in this new century. I have no hope of that ever happening, far too much money involved for a return to statesmanship first to happen.

on Solar Power
Small scale Solar Energy Production, requiring no energy cost input (fuel) is no more then a machine carrying it's initial cost and maintenance. It is simply unrealistic to compare it to Bonneville Dam on scale alone.
Bonneville was designed to supply electrical energy to a region and speaking theoretically had the price of that energy been set to provide a ROI to the BPA that was based on a shorter cost neutrality, perhaps both business and public users would be significantly more efficient in their used of that power today; a completely ‘what if’ scenario.

To be worth going solar the ROI must not exceed 2-years, just as with ANY other capital investment.

on What Are Workers Worth?
Employee cost is a canard designed to cover and forestall solving the real problem. There are, due to special interests and no fiscal responsibility by Salem simply too many public sector employees for the private sector to support in good times, or bad. If only government been run the exact same way that the private sector had to just to survive. Perhaps things would be different; maybe not. Today, there will be mandatorily cuts in the size of government, and these feeble politicians unwilling to see the paradigm shift will throw the state workers under the skids rather then simply eliminating entire segments of the luxury of government…
I have no problem with the compensation package of state workers if they are properly managed. It is clear that the problem is there are simply too many employees of government for the private sector to support.

on Primary Election 2010
As an Independent and non-PDX resident (yes both my choice) this election was a complete non-event, went down as predicted, and did not need my participation, nor would my vote have any impact, as with most non Valley citizens I am effectively not represented in Salem.
I hope you are …yawn… enjoying the morning.
