Haha, yes, I know it's become a muggle sport recently.  But still, why is it easier to be a fan of a magical and fiction-based sport than a big-time sport like football?  For me, the main reason I care about the Ducks is because I'm an Oregonian and went to UO.  I like Harry Potter, but Quidditch has no connection to my home or a place I care about.

I agree with you completely--it's great when the Ducks win, but it doesn't affect my life much when they don't.  And I agree that Harry Potter's world is much more interesting that ours sometimes, although do you wonder how it's different to be a Quidditch fan than a fan of a real sport?

I know who Duck Vader is--a great guy I used to date made that costume last Halloween and wore it to a game (and was on close-up on TV game coverage), and now there are several other Duck Vaders running around!

The most important thing for me when I die is that my organs be donated to patients that are waiting for them.  I can't imagine how wonderful it must feel for a family on an organ waitlist to finally get the liver, kidney, heart, etc. that they need, and my body will (probably) have plenty of functional organs that should be put to good use.  It seems a shame to bury so many perfectly good body parts when they could easily safe a life--or 10.

The discussion about "green" weddings struck a chord with me--I am a typical eco-conscious Oregonian and live simply and sustainably as possible; I am going to a cousin's wedding in Orlando, FL later this spring and I am prepared to be shocked by the lack of thought for the environment used there.  I think it's really interesting that the UO professor on your show is from Texas but cares about "sustainability," etc.  I wonder why consciousness about these issues must be regional--in Oregon, we recyle curbside, e.g.  In Indiana, for example, not so much.  Why must this be?
