on November Ideas
I hear rumors of a new state flag. Substantiated by a Google search: http://neworegonflag.org/NOF%20Home.html What is the story here? The proposed design (I don't know how formal the proposal is?) doesn't really excite me.

on October Ideas
I think this would be a great topic. I live in Yamhill county. Yamhill county has very few bike lanes. I know many people at work that would ride except for a certain section of road close to work (largest employer in the county). The section is a little finger of land outside the city limits, there is no bike lane, no lighting, and hardly a shoulder. I would guess we have 50+ individual that drive, but live less than 1-2 miles from work.
The tie in to public transit would be great. Perhaps a bit about the new commuter line from Beaverton to Wilsonville. What about the Hwy. 99 bypass in Newberg/Dundee? Has anyone propose light rail from PDX to McMinville down Hwy. 99. Commute during the week, visit wineries by the weekend.
I feel our public transit system is at a bit of a tipping point. Too small to server the masses, not enough people benefit to see the value; but has such great potential with additional investment.

on Candidate Conversations: Secretary of State
Candidate Dancer started to touch on a topic I feel would benefit voters greatly. That was the topic of disclosure. I feel citizens, on both a fedral and state level have very little visibility of how tax money is spent. I believe that disclosure of both state revenue (how much and from what sources) and state spending (how much, what funding source, and towards what) could help people make better decisions when voting. Especially when voting on measure that would require funding, reallocate spending, or change revenue (read increase/decrease taxes). Additionally, with disclosure citizens could start to measure the effectivness of legislation. Did this levy have the intended affect on revenue, etc.

on Measures 57 and 61: Crime and Punishment
I am assuming the goal of a manditory minimum is to reduce crime. Are there quantitative examples of manditory minimums in other States reducing crime. Has Measure 11 measurably reduced the amount of violet crime; what have been the unintended concequences of Measure 11; the financial concequences?
