I am a straight American woman, who has felt for many years, we are not a free people until we have the freedom to choose who we can marry and have as 'legal partners'. My husband and I were SO PROUD last night to here President Elect Obama include gays and straights in his speech. I will always remember the proud almost disbelief look my husband and I gave each other. Something else of exceptional notice I have had in myself,in the past week or so, I have found myself thinking how PROUD I am and fortunate to be an American. This is a new phenomena for me. I have felt real issue with our government and it has apparently shadowed this proud feeling in me. It is HEALING!
