with 50 years experience in the film & performing arts industry, my last 20 years in Oregon were the best. The crews are dedicated & work with integrity as a team. The scenery is spectacular, with every conceivable  terrain option. Many   producers,  directors and actors have homes in Oregon or chose to raise their children in this creative environment, Cindy Williams is one of many examples. Our current Governor Koulongowski was particularly involved in bringing Hollywood to Oregon by streamlining the mountains of paper work.

As a concerned citizen with a social conscience I see the need to add some commonsense to this subject:

when I travel throughout the country & Portland, the first thing I notice on the road is a vehicle traveling in an unsafe manner. most of the time it is NOT possible to see the driver, unless it is a person on a bicycle blasting through a red light or stop sign. Furthermore as I pass a driver obviously in their 20's driving a $30-$50 thousand dollar vehicle; I am certain this person did not get the money working at MacDonalds.  At age 60 plus I find that the lawenforcement is constantly being tied up and prevented from doing their job . I find repeatedly that "racial profiling is being used as a weapon against  laws being enforced.

Let us be very clear about the fact that we all bring with us the culture in which we were born; it's degree of civility and respect for society is blatently obvious, good or bad. PSU grad student.

As a researcher for the cause and effect of human behavior concerning  the problem of the men or women who are drinking in excess; we must dig MUCH deeper into the reason why they engage in this behavior. The reasons can reach all the way to the embryonic stage. Our system is not equipped or funded to be more socially engaged. Education is the only solution going back to pregnant women, because they program their embyos before they are born by their own activities, sorrows & conflicts & environment. clfpdx.

It is apalling that the people in this country do  not care about their babies and elders. There is NO social conscience. Many European countries provide for in home nursing care paid for by federal taxes.  We do not care about the highest juvenile delinquency which begins in the cradle. In Europe in home nursing care is provided to EVERY  young Mother & Father.
