HUGE difference between the capital gains tax and inheirtance (estate) taxes.

Unless you are passing on more than $3.5 million ($7 million as a couple) your heirs won't pay a dime in taxes. 1 in 300 estates are subject to the tax which is hardly a populous problem yet joe blue collar screams bloody murder about it. If you are passing on more than those amounts and are hit by the tax you should have hired better accountants and tax lawyers to minimize those taxes.

Tom Mccall never would have allowed a casino to be built in Oregon. Kitzhaber reflected Mccall's solid conservation values last night with his answer on land use.

Someone please ask Ross Day if having local blue collar workers involved in our election is better or worse than the massive amounts of OUT OF STATE money backing Dudley.

Also if the Unions have so much money to throw around why is Dudley out raising Kitzhaber by at least 2:1 right now.

Ross Day typifies how the disconnected Republican party is from the realities of working people and reality.

What does "protecting the unions" have to do with bringing the level of education up in the state?

How do you know what Dudley's position on social issues are? Where does he stand on same sex marriage? abortion? ADA? social security?

If Dudley is "ready to be govenor" according to Ross why has he been running away from more of these debates? With no political experience I expect Dudley to earn my vote. His running away from debating makes me suspicious of what his handlers are hiding from the Oregon voters.

i'm still waiting for the peer reviewed studies that show the ineffectiveness and danger of vaccinations to be presented by the anti-vaccine crowd instead of the broken logic and ignorance of basic science.

you are wrong.

the fetus was NOT aborted for the purpose of making the vaccine. the vaccine was developed from a single aborted fetus due to medical reasons. the virus was isolated from a second aborted fetus that was terminated because it had congenital rubella. both of these occurred during the 60's - no further fetal material has been used for rubella vaccine manufacture.

on The Blazers Blackout

i will add that not having 100% of your sports content broadcast in HIGH quality high definition is a travesty and the last people i need to hear excuses about hidef from is comcast - their hd quality is HORRIBLE.

on The Blazers Blackout

the days of a sports franchise simply selling out to the highest bidder are coming to a close. there is far too much choice and competition for the viewers/fans disposable income to let someone else manage your image in the video broadcast medium. like the horrible choice oregon state made to move to KPAM because they were the highest bidder and essentially blackout large portions of the state because of KPAM's poor broadcast signal and affiliate network. if you own a sports franchise or are in charge of a college team you better make sure the contracts you sign give you, the proxy for the fans, the power to make changes that maximize your image control.

also the comcast rep keeps forgetting to mention they own the rights to the content AND the pipes that carry it not to mention much of their service area is a publically granted monopoly. when does the public stand up and say 'we GAVE you a valuable chunk of the public's property now GIVE us something back'

also why do we always hear 'i saw this cyclist break such and such a law'? i see just as many if not more drivers violating laws everyday not to mention just driving dangerous (speed and erratic behavior) and those people will do far, far more damage than the worst cyclist ever could.

why do drivers frequently use the pejorative 'entitlement' tag to broadly label bikers? the professional truck driver just used it (also several of the comment here use it or a derivative) and then threw in the 'green' label also like it was something bad.
