on Music History Lesson

I was going to OSU (in Corvallis) in the 1980s but came up to PDX often to see shows, mostly at the Satyricon and Starry Night. I especially remember (and still love) The Obituaries, Dead Moon, Wipers, The Rats, Napalm Beach and so many more I can't think of right now. Monica Nelson (lead singer of the Obits) is now in NYC and working relentlessly speading the word abut the Ground Zero poisoning and especially the plight of George Tabb, who was heavily involved in the punk/hardcore scene at that time. Check it out on the Web and help out if you can.

on Opera's New Day

Just wanted to let you know that despite an intense love of music I can not handle opera AT ALL. Sounds like wild animals fighting or mating, can't tell which.
Only thing good about it is that a little knowledge about it will help you answer some Jeopardy questions.
Good luck with todays show. I'll listen again tomorrow.

on Message in a Bottle

I think the recycling/deposit bill is great but I have problems returning my bottles for deposit. I often buy beers from small microbreweries and then I'm stuck with a bottle that I can't find any store that will take back (because they don't sell it). I currently have 20 or 30 beer bottles that the only place I know of that I can return them for a deposit is almost 75 miles away.
That need to change. You need to be able to return bottles anywhere. Period.

on Classy Politics

Middle class, to me, are families making 30,000 to maybe 120,000 dollars a year. Hillary Clinton's comments that the middle calss include families making up to 250,000 just shows me that she's out of touch with reality. I honestly don't know one person, or family, that makes that much. Perhaps it's because Oregon has a lower standard of living that other plpaces in the U.S. but I don't think that's the case.
Anyway, Ms. Clinton's comments just cement my opinion that almost ALL politicians are Elitists and truly have no cluw of the state of the working-class American.
Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.

Thanks.
