I am fascinated by your role as midwife.  I worked at Our House of Portland for several years with people who were dying of HIV and I have always described it as so similar to being with someone who is givig birth - it is all about the honor of being with a person in their transition.  It was a very sacred role to BE and to care for them during and after they die.  Many people do not understand this, but birth midwives often see the conection.  I hope to be able to work in that role again someday.
