I'm no artist but I took a silkscreening class in college and loved it. I am wondering if Earl has changed his methods over the years? Does he use any of the new technology get his images on the screens? Thanks!

Speaking of fish marketing techniques, it blows my mind that people are all the sudden buying Tilapia, and it is showing up in restaurant menus like it's the next best thing. The agriculture (FFA) teacher at my high school raised these fish in aquariums in the green house, and it's the same fish that they are trying to get people to raise in 3rd world countries for a cheap food supply. I won't eat the thing.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't get it when people like one of the callers calls for more electric cars over combustion engines. Doesn't the overwhelming majority of our electricity come from carbon based fuels? Just because more people plug in cars doesn't mean the wind will blow any harder or water will run through turbines quicker. Before we ask for the public to jump over to any new technology we need to make a fundamental change in our primary energy sources, something the government and big energy producers seem unwilling to take serious.

Why on earth would anyone sit on planes for four hours to get from Pendleton to Portland when it takes just over 3 hours to drive. I grew up in Pendleton and a couple times I flew into Pendleton on summer or winter break from college, and it was great to have a 45 minute flight instead of a 3 hour drive on top of a 4 hour flight from Chicago. Bottom line, folks from Pendelton aren't going to just fly to Portland, Seattle will be the new connection point to get out to other destinations.

Hello,

I grew up in Pendleton and although it isn't as rural as other places in Eastern Oregon we had schools in the Bend area in our athletic conference. I can't help but believe that it will cost the schools a lot more money for sports trips, or any activity that requires long bus trips. High gas prices will really hurt rural school districts, and I'm afraid that kids there will see cuts in available extra curricular activities.
