on The Oregon State Hospital Today
Emily, I am curious... I posted my question at 9:15 am... My question was short and precise, yet it didn't get asked. Is there something I should do in the future if I want my question asked? Is there a way to get my question answered by Greg, still? Thanks, Sabrina Louise - Portland, OR

on The Oregon State Hospital Today
With regards to food, and feeding patients nutrient dense meals, what is being done to improve the quality of the food? Are steps being taken to assess how things like dairy, sugar and gluten might affect an individual's mental and physical health? Can local farms and CSA's form partnerships with the state mental health care system, so that high quality whole foods can reach the people who need good nutrition so badly?

on Toxic Water?
Willamette University - College of Law in Salem, Oregon is hosting a conference called: A NEW PARADIGM - REALLOCATING WATER: IMPLEMENTING THE HUMAN RIGHT TO WATER IN THE WEST. It's about examining the idea around ensuring that human beings and the systems that support us have enough clean, drinkable water. Since the United Nations recently declared a human's right to water and sanitation, there is a new momentum behind this idea. There will be much exploration focused on these small work groups: Defining and Enforcing the International Human Right to Water, Defining the Human Right to Water in the West: Protecting Livelihoods and Ecosystems, How Western Water Laws Currently Secure the Human Right to Water, The Economics of Implementing the Human Right to Water, Water Governance: Designing Institutions and Defining Roles in Securing the Human and the Right to Water. For more information, to register, or to sign up for a working group, go to: http://www.willamette.edu/wucl/events/wrc/index.phI>

on North Coast Wal-Mart
What people don't understand is that when you spend your money at Wal*Mart, it leaves our communities and goes to the the corporation. When you spend your money locally, it stays in the community and it goes to your neighbors, family and friends, which builds community. We want our wealth to stay IN the community. THAT is how we will survive.
