on As We Are: Sex Workers

If the judgement is left out the practical would be to legalize it. Check this out for a more interesting view of the life and world of a sex worker:

on Sam Scandal

Sam Adams is a tool. That said, he should remain in office. There has been humiliation, remorse, and tears I'm sure. The man is a skilled administrator. It is costly and takes up valuable time to investigate, find a new mayor, and finally after all the trouble, get to work. Liars in politics are nothing new.I would rather have him watched closely and get my money's worth out of his hyde.

on Fishing for Clarity

Here is some clarity for you. The arrogance that leads humans to "manage nature" is shear folly. Counting any species is very sad. Long gone are the day when there were too many (of any species) to count.
Lost cause my friends.

on Mind Your Manners

People no longer practice etiquette. They talk during movies, urinate on the toilet seat, leave dirty diapers in the seat backs of airlines, and have the audacity to get angry if you call them on it. Manners are the dikes of civilization and should be practiced.

on Hurrah for the Red, White and Blue

In this day and age Patriotism seems to be the last refuge of scoundrels, as Samuel Johnson said. It has been waved about by our current administration fervently. How does our patriotism differ from patriotism in other countries? Am I an American because I was born here? If I'm an illegal immigrant can I be patriotic?

on A Drop to Drink

To paraphrase someone else water will be the new oil. Only a matter of time. What other country flushes with drinking water, bathes in drinking water?

You might also discuss the issues going on in Georgia, Alabama and Florida, which metaphorically is on the verge of civil war.

on The U of O's Bank Shot

Interesting that we are so casual about that much money for a sports stadium, that I'm betting is not necessary...I'm guessing here. Do these guys have no where to play? I'd wet my pants if you dropped 200 mill on elementary school education.
In fact I'd like to see sports arenas anywhere attached to elementary education. X $ for elementary education and X$ for big sports.
