I changed my voter registration from Republican to Independent during the first Bush administration. I knew when I made that decision I would not be voting in primary elections. While there have been times I would have enjoyed voting for a certain candidate I am dead set against open primaries! I firmly believe that the choice of candidates and platforms should be the privilege of persons who commit to one party and work for it.
