'Roll On Columbia' - Woody's Time With The BPA

“Roll on Columbia,” a documentary about Woody Guthrie’s time writing songs for the Bonneville Power Administration, is screening at 6 p.m. Monday, July 25th at the Bagdad Theater on Hawthorne Boulevard in Southeast Portland.

April Baer interviewed filmmaker Michael O’Rourke about the songs Guthrie wrote during the month he spent in the Northwest.

Baer also spoke with Bill Murlin, a local folk musician who worked for the BPA and was instrumental in rediscovering the songs Guthrie wrote for the federal agency.
