While Pharoahe Monch has stayed out of the mainstream spotlight, he has been recording since 1991, appearing on tracks alongside influential artists like Black Thought, Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Nate Dogg, De La Soul, and more.  His cerebral, complex, almost jazz-like lyrical style and delivery have earned him praise from critics and the hip-hop community alike, with rap veteran Kool Moe Dee ranking Pharoahe at number 26 on his best MCs of all time list.

Born and bred in Queens, NY, Pharoahe began his experience with expression as a visual artist, putting his heart and soul on canvas. While in art school, Pharoahe was introduced to Hip-Hop culture through graffiti and fashion
