Remix album “Broken / Beats” brings lo-fi jazz beats for late summer.

Building on the success of their 2018 debut “Better / Broken”, Frank Irwin Quintet enlisted the chops of some of Portland’s best hip/hop producers to craft an LP of remixes, “Broken / Beats”.

With regular play on KMHD’s Morning Session and New Jazz For Lunch, Frank Irwin Quintet has woven their sound into the jazz fabric of Portland.

FIQ’s evocative brand of jazz music is reimagined on “Broken / Beats”, featuring chops and remixes of “Better / Broken” by Neill Von Tally (The Last Artful, Dodgr, Blossom), Brown Calvin (Brown Calculus, Tribe Mars), Alex Meltzer (Korgy & Bass), LesMoss (It’s Future Time), Benja (ADDverse Effects), and Ben Martens. The album also features guest verses by Cloud Castle, Dusty Fox (Two Planets), and Rufus Smalltownz. “Broken / Beats” will be released on 12” vinyl, CD, Bandcamp, and all major streaming platforms on August 24, 2019.

In coordination with the release of “Broken / Beats” the band will also be re-releasing their debut album “Better / Broken on 12” vinyl.
